So for the past few weeks now I have been working on a project with my fellow mates for our English class, called: The Octopus Garden. The name was created by our amazing English teacher. The name was inspired by a bunch of computer wires, all bundled up, and cramped into a small area. The project combines us eighth graders and the seventh graders. The project is about what a twenty-first century classroom looks like, so we (Grade seven and eight) were told to design a classroom. If we can convince the principle then our designs become a reality! We were separated into five teams. Team Dominant Innovations (my team :D), we're doing research/design on floors. Team G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) are doing ceilings. The Atomic Sharks are doing furniture. Team No Limits are doing other stuff, such as air-cons, lamps, acoustics etc... And last but not least, The Rubber Ducks. They're doing walls. All of us got different jobs. In my group I'm the Project Manager, we have a Photographer, two Google Jockeys, a Tweeter, and two Community Advisers.
So far I have been challenged, I have learned/experienced/enjoyed many different things! The challenges I have faced include: putting up, and bossing around incompetent people/the slackers. Which is something I really hate doing, being bossy. Getting work done on time, solving tiny problems within the group as well as other groups. Also sometimes it's just one of those days, where you don't want to work! But it's times like those where we have to push ourselves. I've learned many different skills as well as improved some. For example I have improved my reflective skills. I've been a lot more knowledgeable lately, principled as always, more of a communicator between groups, as well as an inquirer...well more than usual.Oh and not to mention patience, had to use a lot of that. I have enjoyed pretty much everything! From the challenges (I LOVE a good a challenge), to the extreme laziness, to the awesome moments I had with all my mates.
In conclusion I would like to develop my inquiring skills, and learn a whole lot more! As far as targets for the future goes, creating quality work, and handing it on time. Basically making our work as AWESOME as we can! Other than that...hmm...not quite sure yet. Guess we'll have to wait and see :).
Rock of Abby
Welcome to my world of music! No, not computer generated music with auto tune, untalented fakes (or as I like to call them: Industry Monkeys) I'm talking about talented artists who do/write what they what, not what other people tell them to. The talented artists who sound pretty much the same at their live shows, as they do in their recorded albums. You can tell what this blog is about from the title. It's fun. It's organic...It's ROCK! (And yes all comments are welcome. Good or bad, I don't mind)

LEARNING REFLECTION
HOW DO I PRESENT WHO I AM TO THE WORLD?
During the Snapshots Unit where I explored how I want to present myself to the world, the things I found most interesting were pretty much everything. I have never really done units like this in English class. Every class was different, it would always leave me thinking “what’s next?”. If i had to pick a project I would say, what’s in my purse. I found it the most interesting because it made me really think “who am I?”. I enjoyed everything in this unit.
The activities that helped me to learn most about how I present myself to the world were mostly the ‘What’s in my Purse’ part of the unit, and the part where we had to create some sort of presentation to show who we are, using the ‘Me Poem’. They helped me to learn by making me really think. On the other hand, I found ‘Me Poem’ challenging because I didn't quite know how to present it. I had a general idea of what I wanted to do, but it was hard to find the perfect idea. I did try to overcome these challenges though by talking to friends/family about it, looking around the house (for materials), and looking at other paper sculptures on the web.
We completed many different tasks during this Unit, such as the paper blog project, acronym poem, me poem presentation, what’s in my bag etc... The one I enjoyed the most was ‘What’s in my bag’ and ‘Me poem presentation’. because they were fun, exciting, and it really got me thinking about how I wanted to present myself to the class/world. If I could change anything in the Unit it would be nothing, because it suited me just fine.
Overall I discovered a few more things about me, and this unit has made me more careful about the things I say/post onto the internet.
Halloween Lesson
On the 31st of October our AMAZING English teacher Mrs.Holly arranged a special Halloween lesson. We had to make new words using the letters from "Magic Spells". Whoever got the most words, most interesting words, or longest word got candy. And while everyone else was getting 15-25 words, my best friend and I managed to get...eight (8). Anyways Then we had to name, draw, and describe some witches/wizards, sadly we could only name six (6) from the Harry Potter series. My group drew the most gruesome witch out of all the others, but we still lost due to lack of detail (we had to label ARGG!!!). After all the competitions we watched the scene of Macbeth (by: Shakespeare) with the witches chanting there little spell. Our teacher then let us make our own, so here it is!!!

Hello people of the internet. So you as you can see this blog is about my world of music (give me suggestions and it might just be yours too! :)). It's also about all the projects we do in English class, because creating a blog was apart of one project. I suppose you want to know a little bit about me, and if you don't skip ahead. Here it goes! I'm a girl, and... umm... I like swimming, not swim class though. I was born in Zimbabwe lived there for about 2 years, then my family and I moved to Durban, South Africa. I'm Sri Lanken, but I consider South Africa to be my home. I have no luck whats so ever, but then again I believe that luck's for losers. Once I kicked my dad so hard in the nose (BY ACCIDENT!), he got a broken nose, and a massive nose bleed. As a child I loved to climb (still do), I pretended to be Spiderman (one of my favourite superheros), and Tarzan. I am and aspiring WWE Diva, and I WILL be the first, if not one of the girl(s) to win the WWE Championship. What can I say... I'm a WWE geek. Comic lover right here, I enjoy reading The Walking Dead, The Punisher, Spiderman etc. Also I am what people refer to as a 'tom boy', yeah I'm the most feminine person.
