The Octopus Garden

So for the past few weeks now I have been working on a project with my fellow mates for our English class, called: The Octopus Garden. The name was created by our amazing English teacher. The name was inspired by a bunch of computer wires, all bundled up, and cramped into a small area. The project combines us eighth graders and the seventh graders. The project is about what a twenty-first century classroom looks like, so we (Grade seven and eight) were told to design a classroom. If we can convince the principle then our designs become a reality! We were separated into five teams. Team Dominant Innovations (my team :D), we're doing research/design on floors. Team G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) are doing ceilings. The Atomic Sharks are doing furniture. Team No Limits are doing other stuff, such as air-cons, lamps, acoustics etc... And last but not least, The Rubber Ducks. They're doing walls. All of us got different jobs. In my group I'm the Project Manager, we have a Photographer, two Google Jockeys, a Tweeter, and two Community Advisers.

So far I have been challenged, I have learned/experienced/enjoyed many different things! The challenges I have faced include: putting up, and bossing around incompetent people/the slackers. Which is something I really hate doing, being bossy. Getting work done on time, solving tiny problems within the group as well as other groups. Also sometimes it's just one of those days, where you don't want to work! But it's times like those where we have to push ourselves. I've learned many different skills as well as improved some. For example I have improved my reflective skills. I've been a lot more knowledgeable lately, principled as always, more of a communicator between groups, as well as an inquirer...well more than usual.Oh and not to mention patience, had to use a lot of that. I have enjoyed pretty much everything! From the challenges (I LOVE a good a challenge), to the extreme laziness, to the awesome moments I had with all my mates.

In conclusion I would like to develop my inquiring skills, and learn a whole lot more! As far as targets for the future goes, creating quality work, and handing it on time. Basically making our work as AWESOME as we can! Other than that...hmm...not quite sure yet. Guess we'll have to wait and see :).
